Theater Tickets Fall 2024
WHS Fall Musical:
Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812
October 24-26, 7pm
Matinee, October 26, 2pm
November 1-2, 7pm
This Fall, the Woodinville High School Theatre Company (WHSTC) will bring the fresh-from-Broadway, electropop-opera Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 to the WHS stage. The story follows Natasha, a beautiful ingénue visiting Moscow while she waits for her beloved fiancé Prince Andrey to return from the war. In a moment of indiscretion, she is seduced by the dashing (but already married) Anatole, resulting in the ruination of her societal position and future with Andrey. Her only hope lies with Pierre, the lonely outsider whose love and compassion for Natasha may be the key to her redemption… and to the renewal of his own soul. The musical is entirely sung, opera-style, and the WHSTC is honored to be the first High School in Washington state to be performing this show.
Performances will run October 24-26, and November 1-2 at 7:00 pm, as well as a matinee on October 26 at 2:00 pm in the Woodinville High School Theater.

Based on a scandalous slice of Leo Tolstoy’s epic novel War and Peace, The Great Comet was conceived by the celebrated and award-winning composer Dave Malloy, and premiered in October 2012, at Ars Nova in New York City, under the direction of Rachel Chavkin, with Malloy in the lead role of Pierre. The production later opened on Broadway in November 2016, starring Josh Groban and Denée Benton, and was nominated for 12 awards for the 2017 Tony Awards. Inspired by a 70-page slice of War and Peace, this innovative new musical is vibrant and immersive and brings us just inches from Tolstoy’s brash young lovers as they light up Moscow in a brilliant flash of romance and passion.
