Important Update for Feb 6th showing of Footloose

With Thursday, February 6 being a snow day for the Northshore School District, all evening activities have been cancelled. This includes the 7:00 p.m. production of Footloose.

Rather than cancel this performance, it has been rescheduled to a matinee on Saturday, February 8 at 1:30 p.m. Our sincere apologies for this change, but do hope you'll be able to join us!

For individuals who have already purchased a ticket(s) through GoFan or in person for the Thursday, February 6 performance, your ticket(s) will automatically be adjusted to the new day and time.

Please note we are a self-funded theatre company within Northshore and donating your ticket purchase to the program instead of requesting a refund would be greatly appreciated.

If, however, you would like a refund, please email whstheatre@outlook.com & cc whsasb@nsd.org no later than today, February 6th at 5:00 p.m. with the following information:

  • The email that was used to purchase the tickets on GoFan or the receipt # if purchased in-person

  • The number of tickets that were purchased

  • The type of tickets that were purchased

Refunds may take up to 4 weeks. Thank you for your understanding. Our apologies again for the change in the performance date and time!

This Winter, 20 years after our founding director, Hjalmer Anderson first brought Footloose to the WHS stage, the Woodinville High School Theatre Company (WHSTC) is thrilled to bring this fabulous 80s musical back to the WHS Theater. As one of the most explosive movie musicals of all time bursts onto the live stage, audiences can revel in this throwback to teen romance, angst and, of course, the desire to dance to the Oscar and Tony-nominated top-40 score, fueled by the title song as well as “Let’s Hear It For The Boy” and “Holding Out For A Hero.”

The show runs January 30-February 1 and February 6-8, at 7:00 pm, in the Woodinville High School Theater.

Footloose - The Musical is based on the beloved hit 1984 film, bringing the tale of teenage rebellion to the modern stage in all its 1980s glory. The show follows protagonist Ren (originally played by Kevin Bacon) and his mother as they move from Chicago to the small farming town of Bomont. Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school, but he’s not prepared for the local ban on dancing - an edict based on a fatal car crash that took the life of the town pastor’s son years earlier. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. Set to the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated top-40 score, augmented with dynamic new songs, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.
