Yearbook 2024-25

 Important Yearbook Information & Updates

YEARBOOK LOTTERY 2024-25

The Woodinville High School yearbook staff is pleased to present the 2025 Yearbook publication to our fellow students. The publication is created by students for students and is not meant to be a professional publication. All efforts are made each year to improve our product, correct all mistakes, and to represent all student groups.

The Wingspan administrative team is committed to our continued focus on diversity, equity and inclusion as a school community. The yearbook student staff strives to reflect that commitment in the operation, development and publishing of the school annual.  The yearbook is both a learning tool and a student publication.  We apologize in advance for any spelling errors,  inaccuracies or omissions. We know there is a possibility that you may not like our efforts and for this we are sorry.

We are so thankful for all the help everyone has given to create this book; pictures, professional photos, interviews and anything you did to help Wingspan this year. It truly is a community effort.

RE: Final Check on Senior “nice” portrait.

Hello Dear Senior,

Okay, we have gathered all the photos, we have painstakingly placed them and are close to sending these pages to the printers. We want to make sure that everyone has the photo they want turned in. This is now in your hands to double check.

Please check on this as soon as possible, the deadline to make any corrections is Dec. 3rd by noon (The reason for this time is that this is before Yearbook class 🙂).

By 3pm on Dec. 3rd we will be done with the 2025 Senior Section and we will not be able to make any changes in that section.

  1. Please open the Google Sheets document. (link below in Pink)

  2. Find your name. Make sure you have the correct preferred name listed there. That is the one that is going to be under your picture in the yearbook.

  3. Make sure that you have an X in the column of the photo you want.

    1. First column/Yellow highlight: You do not want your photo in the Senior Portraits Section so we have no photo for you at all.

    2. Second column/Green highlight: You want us to use your Dorian or current ASB photo.

    3. Third column/Blue highlight: You turned in a “nice” picture.

    4. Fourth column/Orange highlight: You turned in a “nice” picture but something was wrong with it, so we emailed the email address that you attached to the photo in the Yearbook Photo App and you never responded to our email so it is not being used. So we are using either your Dorian Photo or we have no photo for you.

CLICK HERE for GOOGLE SHEETS LINK

If there has been a mistake, send me the photo by Dec. 3rd. Please make sure it follows our requirements minimum of 2MB in size, no hats, pets or props.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to email or stop by room 238.

Mrs. Alder

Yearbook Adviser

P.S. Senior Grad Ads are Due Dec. 13th

Dear Seniors and Parents or Guardians,

Senior Graduations Ads for Woodinville High School are on sale now

Due: December 13, 2024.

  1. What they are: The Yearbook Staff (Wingspan) sells ad space in the yearbook for seniors. This is a way to share your congratulations to your graduate. You can add pictures (baby and a different version of their Senior “nice” picture) and congratulatory messages .

  2. Please know we are working with a new company this year. This means the process is a little different from when we worked with Balfour. Please don’t wait until the last day, that is typically when problems arise 🙂.

  3. How do you buy and create them?: They are paid for and created on the Walsworth Yearbook Website: Click here for a direct link to the main page

  • Sizes: Full page $240, ½ page $120, ¼ page $60 and ⅛ $35

  • *There is a surcharge charged by the company.

  • You can only select *Design My Own Ad Online

  1. Gather all the pictures, words and ideas together first and then build your ad. The site is real user friendly, its four simple steps shouldn’t take you more than 20 minutes if you have all of your materials gathered first.

    1. The program will time you out, so if you leave it open with no activity it kicks you off. But just click on the “resume” tab up at the right hand corner, type in the email you used in the opening and it will save all of your work. It sends you a link to your email.

  1. Can I purchase the ad and then come back and work on it? Technically you can, but I strongly suggest you don’t. Gather up your pictures, your words when you are ready to build it then go in and build it. This will ensure you get a completed proof for your records and remembrance. It also comes in as a PNG photo. You can share it with relatives and friends. Everything will work better and cause you less stress come 12/13/24.

  2. Can I build something on Photoshop/Canva/Cool Photo Program and just upload it? I am sorry, no. Please use the templates available in the program, there are a lot of different choices to choose from.

  3. Will you change or modify the ad once it’s uploaded? No, as long as there isn’t anything in it that would go against WHS or Wingspan Policy (naked baby pics, red solo cups, inappropriate words on a shirt [it’s still a school, we have to keep everything G rated 😀], etc.).

  4. Why do you do these so early in the year, it’s only December for goodness sakes Alder? The Grad Ads determine the final size of our book. And the final size depends on how many ads are sold, and we can’t tell until the parents buy them. 💙  Please trust me when I say, I am giving you all the most time I can afford.

  5. Will I receive a copy of my ad after I have created it? Yes, Walsworth will send you a PNG proof of your ad. They ask you to open it up and do a final proof on it and then it’s yours to keep to send to relatives or friends. I am not 100% sure but I bet you could get a photo company to print it for you.

  6. Can I use my phone to build the ad? Yes 🙂

This is all I can think of right now, as always feel free to email me any questions you have about the Yearbook and I will endeavor to take care of you.

Thank you for your patience on these instructions. There is just never enough time in our days eh?

RE: Woodinville High School Yearbook

Hello Woodinville Students and Parents,

My name is Sharon Alder and I am the Yearbook Adviser. For those of you who are new to WHS or just want to know how our yearbooks work I wanted to share a couple of things with you all:

  1. Preferred Name: DUE DATE 10/25/2024

  2. Uploading Pictures for use in the 2025 Yearbook: DUE DATE 10/25/2024

  3. Purchasing a 2025 Yearbook: Last Opportunity is 12/2 - 12/20

Preferred Name: Here at WHS and all of Northshore School District we allow the students to use their preferred name in the Yearbook. There are just a couple of things you have to do to make this happen:

  1. Go to your counselor and fill out the paperwork with them to have your name changed to your preferred one. You need to do this by 10/25.

    1. We will get a list of student names on 10/28 and those will be the names we use in the yearbook. Once we put them into our program we cannot change them. We will be sending in the portraits to our publisher shortly and once it’s done, we can't change it after that. So, please if it is important to you, take care of this as soon as possible.

    2. If you have any questions or problems please feel free to email me directly.

Pictures: We want yours 🙂 Your WHS Yearbook loves to collect the pictures you take on your phone in the book. This is the best way to ensure your memories of the school year are captured in your Yearbook. We will periodically send out lists of the specific pictures we are looking for.

We will also have the lists on the Yearbook Storage closet (on the second floor next to Mr. Lizotte’s room and across from Ms. Traxler’s room) and under the TV outside of Mr. Weaver’s room. This is where the QR Code is located as well.
