Commencement Tickets

Class of 2021 Commencement Ticket Distribution

Updated: June 8, 2021

Class of 2021 Families!

It’s time to pick up your tickets to graduation!

  • Each graduate’s family has been allocated a maximum of 4 tickets for the commencement ceremony.
    • Commencement will be live streamed for all those who cannot attend due to the ticket limit.
    • You do not need to accept all 4 tickets.
    • You can pick up 1, 2, 3 or 4 tickets, the exact number is up to your family.
  • Families will receive tickets based on the 4 vaccinated/non-vaccinated options outlined below.
  • One important change from prior years is that no tickets can be traded or given to anyone other than the intended recipient.  Doing so would be a violation of the Governor’s orders and could pose a significant health risk.
  • There will be a waitlist (at the time of pick up) for vaccinated tickets and non-vaccinated tickets should there be extras, once all have been distributed.
    • The waitlist tickets will be handed out on a lottery system on the 16th.
  • There will be NO tickets available at Pop Keeney. All families must pick up their tickets at the WHS ticket booth, located at the main office loop, prior to the event per the schedule outlined below. Masks are required for ticket pick up.
  • A wristband is required for vaccinated ticket holders to enter Pop Keeney. The wristband will be provided with the vaccinated ticket when picked up at WHS.
  • ALL fines/fees are required to be paid/cleared prior to receiving the tickets.
  • Fines/Fees must be paid online through TouchBase in advance of picking up the tickets.
    • We are not able to accept payments at the ticket booth.
    • Fine/Fee questions should be directed to whsasb@nsd.org. Students with financial need, please reach out to your counselor.
  • Please remember, all seniors get 4 tickets. So there is no rush to come in. We created a schedule we hope will be convenient for everyone.
  • Please understand we have a limited capacity in the stadium. Some of our family members will need to watch the ceremony by live stream.

Option #1: If all ticket holders will be fully vaccinated and past the two-week curative period by the 16th (or are children under 2 years old):

o   Bring all vaccination cards and come to the WHS Ticket Booth to get your Commencement tickets

o   A print out of a photo ID and photo/copy of the card is acceptable

o   No tickets can be given to the vaccinated section without proof of vaccination (or without attestation that the child attending is under 2 years old)

o   A wristband will be provided for vaccinated ticketholders to bring and wear at Pop Keeney

§  Remember to bring the wristband to the ceremony, as they will not be available at Pop Keeney!

Option #2: If some ticket holders will be fully vaccinated and past the two-week curative period and others are children ages 2-15 who are not vaccinated and will need to show a negative COVID test within 72-hours of the Commencement Ceremony – to sit in the vaccinated section:

o   Be sure to get the negative COVID test no earlier than Sunday, June 13 at 6:00 p.m. (72 hours prior to Commencement day) This is for children ages 2-15 only, not for anyone over the age of 15.

o   Bring your children’s negative COVID test and all adult vaccination cards and come to the WHS Ticket Booth to get your tickets on June 14-15, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

o   A print out of a photo ID and photo/copy of the card is acceptable

o   No tickets can be given to the vaccinated section without proof of vaccination and photo ID (or without attestation that the child attending is under 2 years old) or for children 2-15, a negative COVID test within 72 hours of Commencement day

o   A wristband will be provided for vaccinated ticketholders to bring and wear at Pop Keeney

§  Remember to bring the wristband to the ceremony, as they will not be available at Pop Keeney!

Option #3: If some ticket holders will be fully vaccinated and past the two-week curative period (or are children under 2 years old) and some will be unvaccinated and you are choosing to sit in two different sections (vaccinated and unvaccinated):

o   Bring all adult vaccination cards and come to the WHS Ticket Booth to get your tickets

o   No tickets can be given to the vaccinated section without proof of vaccination and photo ID (or without attestation that the child attending is under 2 years old)

o   Tickets to the unvaccinated sections cannot be traded for other tickets and ticket holders are expected to maintain physical distance from other family groups in all unvaccinated sections

o   A wristband will be provided for vaccinated ticketholders to bring and wear at Pop Keeney

§  Remember to bring the wristband to the ceremony, as they will not be available at Pop Keeney!

Option #4: If none of the ticket holders will be fully vaccinated OR if you are choosing to sit in the physically-distanced unvaccinated section:

o   Come to the WHS Ticket Booth to get your Commencement tickets

o   Tickets to the unvaccinated sections cannot be traded for other tickets and ticket holders are expected to maintain physical distance from other family groups in all unvaccinated sections

Again, tickets cannot be shared, traded or given to anyone other than the intended recipient. Anyone 16 and older, without a vaccine, must sit in the non-vaccinated section (regardless of a negative test, per guidelines).

The main doors of Pop Keeney will open at approximately 5:15 p.m. Masks are required for those in attendance regardless of vaccination status. Please have your tickets ready as no tickets will be available at the door. Guests with a vaccinated ticket, remember to bring the wristband received when tickets were picked up. Dr. Reid's Weekly Reopening Update

Hello Team Northshore,

In just a matter of weeks, the Class of 2021 will be celebrated during their respective school graduation ceremonies. Whether they are going to be in-person or participating remotely, this is a special time for all of our seniors. We are looking forward to celebrating the culmination of years of hard work on behalf of our students, families, and staff during our June graduation ceremonies. For the last several months, our Senior Activities Committee, comprised of students, parents, school staff, building leadership, and district leadership have been working diligently to create an event that honors the accomplishments of our seniors while also creating a safe space that is in line with guidelines from the Department of Health. The Senior Activities Committee has appreciated all the input from our seniors and their families as they worked to make sure everyone’s voice was heard and respected while maximizing the number of all family members and friends (vaccinated and unvaccinated) who wish to attend the in-person graduation ceremony.

According to the current Department of Health Guidelines, we are allowed to fill Pop Keeney Stadium to 50% of its 3,500-person capacity with appropriate social distancing. In addition, we could create vaccinated sections for increased capacity up to the maximum currently allowed -- 50% of the total venue capacity.  Having vaccinated sections allowed us to create space for 1,750 people including family members, friends, and staff to attend and celebrate the graduation. Based on our official capacity and the results of the survey of our senior’s families, schools are able to provide each graduate with four tickets. Tickets will be pre-marked for seating in the vaccinated or unvaccinated section; you will just need to notify your high school which section you plan to sit in when you pick up your tickets. We are hopeful this will meet the needs of most of our families. However, we recognize some families may want an extra ticket while other families may need fewer than their allotted four tickets.  Each school will be creating a wait list for families who would like more tickets, and they will use a lottery system to redistribute the tickets from the families that need fewer than four tickets to families that would like more than four tickets. When you enter the stadium on graduation day, you will be able to enter through any of the entrances and upon doing so, you will find clearly marked sections of the stadium for families planning to sit in the vaccinated section and families planning to sit in the unvaccinated section.

Each high school will be sending more specific information regarding graduation and ticket distribution to their senior families. Questions specific about your senior’s graduation should be directed to the high school staff at the high school your senior attends. Again, I want to thank our Senior Activities Committee for this work; together all things are possible.

Wishing each of you a safe, healthy, and memorable Memorial Day weekend.
