Satellite and WANIC Course Information

What are Satellite and WANIC courses? Satellite and WANIC programs/courses offer students the opportunity to explore diverse, high-demand fields through hands-on, real-world learning experiences. These courses integrate 21st-century skills, technical knowledge, and core academics to prepare students for both college and careers. With a focus on innovation, creativity, and problem-solving, these programs empower students to develop practical skills and earn industry-recognized certifications while exploring potential career paths.

There are separate applications for each of these programs.

NSD Satellite Courses

Satellite Courses are CTE courses that are offered within Northshore School District (BHS/WHS/IHS/NCHS). Limited transportation is provided for these courses, if the course is not held at your home high school.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

STEP 1: Student completes the PROGRAM INTEREST FORM to receive application  -  LINK TO ACCESS THE PROGRAM INTEREST FORM

STEP 2: Student checks NSD email for APPLICATION FORM and completes the STUDENT portion of the application

STEP 3: Parent checks NSD email for APPLICATION FORM  and completes the PARENT portion of the application

STEP 4: Application is automatically sent to Ms. Tang for counselor approval and final signature

STEP 5: Once the application is approved, the completed application will be emailed to student and parent

All steps should be completed by the priority application deadline - March 18, 2025

After the priority application deadline:

  • Completed applications will be reviewed by Satellite teachers
  • In early May, students will be notified of their application status (accepted, waitlisted or denied) via NSD email
  • Accepted students will meet with either Ms. Tang or their counselor to adjust their schedule to add the Satellite course.
