Hello Falcons!
I am so excited to begin my second year as one of your administrators. I fell in love with the WHS students, staff, and community last year as the freshman and senior administrator that also focused on supporting the Math and Social Studies departments. Additionally, I got to work very closely with ASB and help oversee our activities such as assemblies, dances, and other school-wide celebrations which was definitely a highlight of my year!
I am a teacher through and through, so oftentimes you will find me sitting in classrooms or observing the daily goings-on at one of my hallway posts where I’ll also be checking in with students and teachers, getting to know new people, and being as present as I can. I love the vibrant energy of our WHS students and staff which makes coming to work every day energizing and joyful.
I speak Spanish fairly fluently and love to connect with other Spanish-speaking students and families. I grew up in Illinois in a multicultural environment where I was lucky to learn Spanish and speak it regularly. This stayed with me throughout my life as I became a teacher working primarily with Spanish-speaking students and quickly developed strong social justice and community-centered values which very much align with my work here at WHS.
I attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for my undergraduate then received my Master’s in teaching in Indianapolis, IN before spending some time in New York City at Columbia University where I received another Master’s in educational leadership. I am currently in the dissertation stage of my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Indiana University. I am the oldest of 4 and pride myself in being a big sister to all 3 of my silly younger brothers. I am an avid ultra-marathon runner and a dog mom to Chuck Peanut Butter, our crazy but sweet Shepherd Husky mix.
I want to say thank you to the WHS community for helping make my first year here an excellent one, and I cannot wait for another amazing school year to come!
