Dear Falcon Families:

Welcome to the Woodinville High School Classes of 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030!

A school truly comes alive when students fill its classrooms, hallways, and gathering spaces. We are excited to welcome our Falcons back and begin another year of learning, laughter, and building a strong sense of belonging together.

At Woodinville High School, our commitment to meeting the individual needs of every student within our "One Falcon, One Family" culture is at the heart of everything we do. As we begin the year, we invite you to partner with us in your student's education. Families play an essential role in student success, and we hope you will become an active part of our Falcon community through volunteering, attending school events, and supporting your student's involvement:

School Day Start and Dismissal Times

Start and dismissal times for the 2026-27 school year remain unchanged:

• Periods 1-7 (M, T, F): 8:20 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.
• Block 2/4/6 (ERW): 8:20 a.m. – 1:50 p.m.
• Block 1/3/5/7 (Th): 8:20 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.

Please note block schedules will occur on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning the week of September 14.

Welcome New Faculty and Staff

There are some new Falcon administrators, faculty, and staff to welcome and greet at WHS this year!

Following Assistant Principal Richard Brown, Jr.’s announcement at the end of last school year that he would be pursuing a new leadership opportunity, please join me in welcoming Assistant Principal Brenda Conrad back to the Falcon Family! Brenda began her administrative career at WHS before serving in other administrative roles over the past four years. Through thoughtful reflection, Brenda recognized that her next step was to return to her roots and the work she loves most—building relationships and engaging directly with students and staff. We are fortunate to have her back at Woodinville, and I know her enthusiasm, energy, and commitment to our school community will make an immediate impact.

We also have another exciting addition to our administrative team. Over the summer, Assistant Principal Ron Taylor accepted a new leadership opportunity as an assistant principal at Bothell High School. We are incredibly grateful for Mr. Taylor’s  five years of leadership, support, and contributions to the WHS community and wish him all the best in this next chapter.

With Mr. Taylor’s new role, we are pleased to welcome Assistant Principal Kyle Oshiro to the Falcon Family! Kyle recently completed his administrative internship at Eisenhower Middle School and brings a strong background in Health & Fitness education, having taught at both the high school and middle school levels. A collaborative and student-centered leader, Kyle is excited to join our community and looks forward to building relationships with students, staff, and families at Woodinville.

Both Ms. Conrad and Mr. Oshiro look forward to focusing on building relationships, helping students navigate conflict effectively, being a part of school culture and spirit efforts, and applying instructional coaching expertise to help the continuous work of academic excellence here at WHS.

Tuesday September 1st, 8:30 a.m. – 10:50 a.m.

• New to WHS seniors, juniors, and sophomores will go directly to the WHS Library at 8:30 a.m.
• For our brand new to WHS seniors, juniors, and sophomores, please note transportation is on a regular schedule on September 1. NEW to WHS seniors, juniors, and sophomores needing to ride District transportation must catch the bus at their regular time. Those with their own transportation are welcome to park in the WHS student lot on this day.
• Lunch is available for purchase after 11:35 a.m. for those opting to do so
• Backpacks are not needed.

CLASS SCHEDULES

All WHS students will begin attending classes on Tuesday, September 2. Official class schedules will be available in StudentVUE that morning. Please check your StudentVUE schedule before attending first period.

Need help? A help desk station will be available between the Library and Main Office for students who need assistance accessing their schedule or no not have a device.

Not attending September 2?

September 2 is a critical census count day for all Northshore schools.

If for any reason your 9^th, 10^th, 11^th, or 12^th grade student will not be attending school September 2 or will not be returning to WHS for the 2026-2027 school year, please let the Attendance Office know as soon as possible at 425.408.7410 or whsattendance@nsd.org.

Bus Routes & Bus Passes
2026-2027

Upon completion of the Transportation Department’s updates, bus route information including bus number, stop times, and bus stop will be available on August 24th on the NSD website under ‘Our District’, ‘Departments’, ‘Transportation’ then ‘Bus Stop Information’.

• Use E-Link to determine stop location and times.
• Please note E-Link is not supported on all tablets or smartphones.
• The information displayed in E-Link is subject to confirmation by calling Transportation at 425-408-7900.

Bus Passes – Available mid-October

Please be advised that bus passes are not approved for the first month and a half of school. Also, please note that bus passes cannot be written on Wednesdays due to buses being at maximum capacity.

School Meals & Lunch Accounts

Northshore’s online system for managing students’ Food and Nutrition Services account information, balances, recurring payments, notifications, and more are now available to families using LINQ Connect. Visit LINQ Connect to log in. Visit your app store to download today. For additional information and tools, please visit the Parent Resource Center.

Students who apply for benefits and qualify for free or reduced-priced meals will receive meals at no charge in 2026-27, and students who do not apply for or qualify for benefits will be charged at the paid meal price for breakfast and lunch when participating.  What can you do to prepare?

• Reapply for benefits in August! The online application can be found on LINQ Connect. Students need to qualify each school year for free or reduced-priced meals in order to continue receiving benefits.
  • In addition to meals, those who qualify may also receive discounted or free school services including athletic fees, field trip fees, ASB fees, college application fees, and more by completing the fee waiver consent. Directions can be found on the Food and Nutrition Services website.
• If you haven’t already, be prepared for purchasing meals by opening a LINQ Family Portal account where you can add money to your student's account, set up recurring payments, see purchases, set low-balance reminders, move money between siblings and even apply for benefits once available in the month of August.

During the school year, parents/guardians can also make prepayments into their student’s lunch accounts by delivering cash or a check payable to NSD or WHS directly to the WHS Kitchen in the Commons. Please note:

• Cash or checks payable to NSD or WHS received at the WHS Kitchen right up until lunch begins and throughout both lunches will be applied at that time
• Fees are not charged when a family pays by cash or check at the WHS Kitchen
• The student's ID number should be included with all payments
• The school district does not accept credit card payments via the food service phone number or at WHS
• You can view your student’s meal account balance in your LINQ Account.

Students will continue to have a nutrition break during “Options” at WHS.

Dear New and Returning Falcon Students and Families! 

The 2026-27 school year starts on Tuesday, September 1st for all freshmen and NEW to WHS 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. All students attend starting Wednesday, September 2nd. To help our students and families prepare, we invite and highly encourage all students to attend Falcon Days on Monday, August 24 (freshmen and seniors) or Thursday, August 27 (sophomores and juniors) on a last name arrival schedule. 

Falcon Days was developed as an all-in-one-day opportunity to provide communication, as well as an efficient back to school process that helps our students and families have the best possible start to the new school year. Attendance at Falcon Days is highly encouraged. If your student is unable to attend on or after their scheduled time, please email whsattendance@nsd.org and include your student’s name. If your student will not be attending WHS in the fall please submit the required Pre-Withdraw Form on our website under Counseling.

At Falcon Days students will have the opportunity to:

• Obtain preliminary class schedules and other key information.
• Have their photo taken and receive their free, required student ID card.
• Pay for ASB memberships, sports participation, PSAT Exam fees, pre-approved student parking hangers, Homecoming Dance tickets, yearbooks, and learn about PTSA memberships and more! In-person payments can be made during Falcon Days, but we highly encourage paying online through TouchBase ahead of Falcon Days to save time. 
• Return items and/or pay outstanding fines.
• Learn about activities and clubs.
• Pick up or turn in medical forms or medications.
• Seniors will receive transcript information for review and confirm their legal name for their diploma.
• Reconnect with friends and classmates!

Please note the alphabetical arrival schedule by last name is NOT in ALPHABETICAL ORDER.
This helps decrease wait time should a student need to speak with their counselor about their class schedule.

STUDENTS MAY COME TO ANY FALCON DAYS SESSION ON OR AFTER THEIR SCHEDULED TIME. Materials will not be available until AFTER their scheduled time.

Check-in for Falcon Days ends at 10:45am for morning sessions and 2:30pm for afternoon sessions.
Cash registers close promptly at 11am and 2:45 p.m. respectively.

Attendance at Falcon Days is highly encouraged. If for some reason a student is unable to attend on or after their scheduled time, please email whsattendance@nsd.org and include your student’s name. If your student is not returning for the 2026-27 school year, please submit the required Pre-Withdraw Form to Counseling Office Manager Roberta Porter at rporter2@nsd.org.  The Pre-Withdraw form can be found on the Counseling website.

District Core Learning Service Applications & Devices

Clever & Schoology

Students and staff will continue with the use of Schoology accessed through Clever for distribution of class assignments and learning materials. New Parents and guardians will receive an email invitation from Clever. Please follow the instructions in that email to activate your account. StudentVUE and ParentVUE are the application for checking grades and for access to class schedules, report cards, course history, graduation status, near real-time information on attendance, and more. New students, parents, and guardians will have access to StudentVUE and ParentVUE starting September 1.
 

School2Home Device Distribution

Students enrolled during the 2025-26 school year kept their device and will use that device for the 2026-27 school year. The logistics of device distribution for new students will be forthcoming, along with a Student Use Agreement that the district will require to be signed by parents/guardians prior to distribution. Students will be expected to bring their district-issued device to school, while school is in session, to use it during the school day. Families should make their best effort to take good care of the device, including keeping it safe when not in use, protecting the screen from scratches or cracks, and using the device only for appropriate academic use. Prior to the start of the school year, students should make sure they charge their device fully and locate all accessories well in advance of school starting so they are ready to go! (It is strongly recommended that students use a district device instead of their own. Personal devices can be difficult to troubleshoot and a liability if something goes wrong. Plus, there might be applications that can only be accessed on NSDPrivate wifi which is limited to district devices.)

 

A Device Protection Plan may be purchased* to cover the device loaned to your student against accidental damage for the school year. This program does NOT cover damage resulting from misuse or loss of the device. Please see the District Technology Webpage for more information.

Access ParentVUE to View Grades/Attendance/Student Details

ParentVUE is a web-based application that provides parents and guardians with information regarding their student via a secure website.

• ParentVUE allows parents and guardians to report an absence.
  • Submitting attendance requests through ParentVUE is the FASTEST WAY for the Attendance Office to see and process requests. You may only request Full-Day absences but not early dismissals or late arrivals.
  • If you excuse your student for early dismissals or late arrivals through ParentVue, please make sure you enter the word "late arrivals or early dismissals" with the time we expected to be in school/ or leaving campus in the Note section.
• ParentVUE allows parents and guardians to view grades including grades for specific assignments. Please consult with your students’ teacher(s) for more information on the specific reports they post.   
• Students access their information via StudentVUE, a separate web-based application, and are provided with their own username and password.  Parents/Guardians must not share their login information to their ParentVue account with their student, as ParentVUE accounts afford parents/guardians with the ability to change their demographic and contact information. 

The link to ParentVUE can be found on the WHS Homepage under “Resources>ParentVUE”. Parents and guardians are provided with an Activation Key to then establish their username and password. If a parent/guardian has more than one student, this login information will provide access to all of their students throughout NSD. Usernames and passwords for Leota Middle School and Timbercrest Middle School students remain the same and carry forward to Woodinville High School. 

Where do parents/guardians new to WHS obtain their ParentVUE Activation Key? 

If you are a parent/guardian who is new to WHS and need an Activation Key to establish a username and password to access ParentVUE there are two options: 

1. Appear in person at the WHS Attendance Office, show ID, and pick up the Activation Key or 
2. Send an email request with your student’s name to whsattendance@nsd.org requesting the information.  The email address will be confirmed and the information will then be emailed to the parent/guardian. 

We apologize for the inconvenience; however, Activation Keys cannot be provided verbally over the phone due to the sensitivity of the information involved.  

Forgot your ParentVUE username and password? 
Once a parent/guardian establishes a username and password, WHS does not have access to it.  If lost, parents/guardians should follow the prompts on the ParentVUE site to recover it or email whsattendance@nsd.org to request a password reset.

Access TOUCHBASE to Make Online Payments, View Account Balance & Payment History

TouchBase is a web-based application that provides parents and guardians with the ability to make payments online and view their student’s account balance and payment history 24-hours a day, 7 days per week. In-person payments of cash, checks, and debit/credit cards* are accepted at the Cashier’s Office and Main Office during school days, 7:50 a.m. – 3:50 p.m.
*Please note that all credit/debit transactions, in-person or online, have a $2.95 transaction fee.

The link to make online payments at TouchBase can be found on the WHS Homepage under “Resources>Payments”. Like ParentVUE, where parents and guardians check student attendances and grades, usernames and passwords for Leota Middle School and Timbercrest Middle School students remain the same and carry forward to WHS. If a parent/guardian has more than one student, the TouchBase login information will provide access to all of their students’ accounts.

Parents and guardians in need of their assigned TouchBase username and password should contact our Online Parent Rescourse Coordinator Julie Leong in the Attendance Office at whsattendance@nsd.org. We are unable to provide the information over the phone due to the sensitive nature of the information.

Download the ParentSquare App

WHS families are encouraged to download the ParentSquare App. It’s free from the App Store or Google Play. Just search for “ParentSquare”.

Here are just a few of the things you can do with it:

• Receive information from the school via email, text, phone call, or mobile app notification
• Two-way messaging with translation between staff and families/students
• Choose to receive information as it comes, or all at once at 6pm daily
• Communicate in your preferred language

ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent using the primary email address and phone number you gave your school office (also the email used in ParentVUE).

If you do not remember the email address you used, please contact the Attendance Office at whsattendance@nsd.org and they can provide that information for you.

All routine bell schedules, lunch schedules, and altered bell schedules are available to view on the WHS website under “Our School” > “Bell Schedules”. Daily bell schedules and events are posted on the Calendar found on the WHS homepage. This is a great resource to utilize and will help keep you up-to-date on what is occurring at Woodinville High School.

E-News from the Principal & The Daily Bulletin:
We invite you to stay connected through E-News from the Principal and the Daily Bulletin. You can anticipate receiving E-News in your inbox almost every Friday throughout the school year and the Daily Bulletin is posted every school day afternoon on our website under Our School, Daily Bulletin. Both can also be found from the ‘Our School’ tab on the WHS homepage.

Weather & Emergency Information:
Emergencies and weather-related problems can alter school schedules and affect bus transportation for students. Families will receive a telephone message from the district if there is a change to the school schedule. If no schedule change information is posted, schools and buses are on their regular schedules. Please visit the NSD Closures & Delays to learn more.

STUDENT ON-CAMPUS PARKING

Beginning Monday, September 14th, students must have a valid WHS 2026-2027 parking hanger in their car to park on the WHS campus. Students are strongly encouraged to ride the school bus or carpool for space and environmental reasons. Parking hanger applications for the 2026-2027 school year opened at the end of last school year. The application is available online on the WHS Parking Permits website.  

Provided the student does not owe any fines, payment for students pre-approved to purchase a WHS parking pass will be made available online through TouchBase accounts starting Wednesday, August 19th. Payment in-person can be made during Falcon Days, August 24th and 27th and then again once the cashier’s office reopens on September 1st for the 2026-27 school year. All fines must be paid before a parking hanger can be added to TouchBase and issued. Students who pay online should bring in their receipt of payment when picking up their parking hanger. Parking is limited and will close once all available hangers have been issued.

Students who do not have a parking hanger on September 14th must park on the street until the hanger is purchased. The cost of parking hangers is $50 per year/$20 per season ($10 for spring season for 3-season athletes). Parking on the WHS campus is limited. The purchase of a parking hanger does not guarantee students a parking space every day. All parking is on a first-come, first-served basis in designated student parking areas. Please see the priority parking plan below. 

The parking priority plan is as follows:  

• Seniors with WANIC/Health Science/Running Start class where there is no district shuttle offered. 
• Juniors with WANIC/Health Science/Running Start class where there is no district shuttle offered. 
• Seniors who participate in after school sanctioned sports and pre-approved after school activities. 
• Juniors who participate in after school sanctioned sports and pre-approved after school activities. 
• Seniors who have waivers or work after school. 
• Remaining seniors in the lottery.

ATTENDANCE HIGHLIGHTS

Our student day is from 8:20 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. and WHS expects all students to attend school every day.  Below are a few highlights of our attendance policy and procedures:

• Absences must be excused within two (2) school days of the absence, or the absence will stay unexcused and result in discipline. Absences will not be excused after the two (2) school day time frame.
• If a student misses more than 15 minutes of class, it is considered an absence.
• If a student has three (3) or more days of unexcused absences in a class, regardless of total number of absences, a conference with administration is needed.
• Early dismissal must be arranged one day in advance of the absences.  Requests for early dismissals that are on the same day require a legal parent/guardian to be present at the attendance window before a pass is issued.  The student must pick up early dismissal passes from the attendance office window in the mooring, during passing periods, options time, or at lunch since we do not deliver passes to the classroom. The parent/guardian can request an early dismissal by email, phone call, or signed note. For more information, please refer to the WHS homepage at under “Resources>Attendance>Early Dismissals.”
• Students who leave campus without the school receiving parent permission prior to the student leaving, will not be able to have the absence(s) excused afterwards and will receive consequences.
• Students who arrive late to school (both excused and unexcused) must check in at the Attendance Office for a pass before proceeding to class.

Woodinville High School’s Fall Open House & Curriculum Night will be on Thursday, September 10.  The evening begins with an activities fair and reception from 6-6:30pm followed by Curriculum Night from 6:30-9pm. This is a great opportunity to meet faculty and staff at WHS and to learn about the school and courses your student is taking. In addition to the activities fair, the counselors will be available as well as the cashiers for your convenience.

Medications & Immunizations

• Students with Life Threatening Conditions: For students who will need lifesaving medication in the event of an emergency, such as for SEVERE ALLERGY, TYPE 1 DIABETES, SEIZURE DISORDER or SEVERE ASTHMA, please submit a new “Authorization for Medication” form to school BEFORE the first day of school along with an unexpired dose of the medication. Students with a Life Threatening Condition must have a completed “Authorization for Medication” and medication on file in order to be on campus. 

That form can be found on the district Health Services website.

• Medications for Students at school: Please have an “Authorization for Medication” form filled out and sent in for any medication that your student will need while at school.

• Immunization compliance: Please register your student at MyIR.com and check the website to make sure your child’s immunization profile is in compliance. Your child is legally required to be up to date with all immunizations in order to attend on campus.

Dress Code

WHS continually attempts to provide the best educational environment for our students, faculty, and staff.  The student’s attire is primarily the responsibility of the parents or legal guardians. The Northshore School District is responsible for assuring that student attire does not disrupt or interfere with the educational process, which includes the health, safety, and emotional well-being of all students. Student attire should not contribute to any hostile or intimidating atmosphere for students.

As families prepare clothing for school, please keep the following in mind:

Students May Wear:  Religious headwear, other headwear* must allow the face to be fully visible to school staff; Fitted** pants, including leggings, yoga pants and “skinny jeans”; Pajamas, Ripped or distressed jeans/shorts that do not expose underwear; Tank tops, halter tops, and crop tops (including those with spaghetti straps); Sunglasses can be worn outside (Special approval is needed to wear sunglasses in the classroom setting for medical purposes).

Students May Not Wear Clothing With: Violent language or images; Images or language that encourages the use of alcohol, tobacco, vaping, or the use of any other drugs; Images or language that depicts illegal activity or that creates a hostile environment (images or language that are reasonably expected to intimidate others on the basis of protected categories including, but not limited to age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation including gender expression or identity, race, creed, religion, color, national origin, honorably discharged veteran or military status, or the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a person with a disability (e.g. swastikas, the Confederate flag)), Hate speech, gang/hate group affiliation, profanity, or pornography); Bathing suit tops, tube tops, or sports bras (unless worn underneath another approved article of clothing); Visible underwear or boxers; Masks*** and headwear that conceal the face (except for religious, medical, and/or health related purposes); Dangerous or sharp objects that could be used as a weapon, spikes, etc.

*Headwear is approved to be worn on campus during the school day unless it is a safety issue. Headwear includes, but is not limited to, hats, visors, bonnets, hoodies, etc. In all circumstances, teachers should attempt to accommodate students who choose to put on headwear.

**The term “fitted” can best be described as form fitting garments that contour the body while providing coverage at the same time.

Volunteer Opportunities!

Falcon Days!

Falcon Days volunteers are needed and appreciated!* This year Falcon Days will be held on August 24th and 27th from 8 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Freshmen and seniors will attend on Monday the 25th, while juniors and sophomores on Thursday, August 28th. 

There will be four shifts with 10 volunteers needed per shift:

• 1st Shift, Monday, August 24:  7:30 - 11:00 a.m.
• 2nd Shift, Monday, August 24:  11:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
• 3rd Shift, Thursday, August 27:  7:30 - 11:00 a.m.
• 4th Shift, Thursday, August 27:  11:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

WHS Main Office is seeking Copy Brigade Volunteers!

The Main Office is looking to fill spots for the 2026-27 Copy Brigade. The Copy Brigade program focuses on ten or more regularly committed volunteers making photocopies and laminating items submitted to the Main Office Copy Center by faculty and staff, as well as providing assistance keeping the work room copy center organized. Regular, committed volunteers are needed Monday through Friday for a 2-hour window between 8:20 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.

Volunteers who are able to commit to regular and consistent participation are key to the effectiveness of this program. Volunteers are encouraged to team up in pairs and, for example, volunteer every other Tuesday, alternating with their partner.  Then, if a Tuesday volunteer can’t make it, the alternating Tuesday partner may be able to swap days and fill in.  In the event a Work Room Copy Center volunteer is unable to make it on their specified day and a back-up person cannot be located, the Main Office Secretary is contacted so alternate arrangements can be made for that day.

School Photos & ID Cards
Photos taken at Falcon Days Aug 24 & 27
Picture Make-Up Day September 8

All students will have a WHS ID card picture taken.  The WHS photo ID card is free of charge.  If a student misses Falcon Days on August 24 or 27, picture make-up day is September 8 during lunches. Retake day is set for October 15 during lunches. Because the Student ID is used to verify identity for testing, sporting events, and school safety records, it is imperative that students do not alter their appearance with hats, face paint, temporary tattoos, or dark/heavy glasses, etc.

Picture packages may be pre-ordered online through Dorian and searching Woodinville High School or go directly to the Dorian WHS Landing Page.

Students must carry photo ID at school and at activities at all times. Students are expected to give their name/show photo ID to any staff member who asks for it during the school day or at a school-sponsored event.

Lost ID/ASB Cards can be replaced for $5.00 at the Cashier’s Office. ASB Membership can be purchased for $70 and the ID card will either be embedded with the ASB logo if purchased at Falcon Days or a sticker will be added to the ID card if purchased after Falcon Days.

STUDENT DELIVERIES & PHONE MESSAGES

To preserve valuable instructional time, please note items brought to students necessary for their coursework during the school day must be delivered to the Main Office. The item(s) will be then be held at the Main Office for students to pick up during non-class hours.

The Main Office cannot call classrooms, send passes for students, or deliver items to them. Items such as gifts, balloons, and flowers must remain in the Main Office until the end of the school day.

Thank you for taking care of communications regarding appointments, etc. at home and make any arrangements for early dismissals in advance or in the morning through the Attendance Office. Personal phone messages for students cannot be delivered to classrooms unless they are an emergency.

LOCKER ASSIGNMENTS

Students who fully intend to use a locker may sign up for one on a first-come, first-served basis at Falcon Days or during the first few weeks of school. Due to the limited number of lockers, students must share a locker with at least one, but no more than two, other students.

Northshore Schools Foundation: Request for Removing Barriers Support

Basic Needs Aid
When a family is in crisis and normal household activities are disrupted, students experience distress that affects their attendance, coursework and classroom behavior. NSF's Basic Needs Aid Fund allows families to stock up on groceries or fill the car with fuel so that they can direct their energy where it is most needed: finding a permanent solution to the situation at hand.

Apply for Funds

1. For WHS students, contact Counselor and CARE Team member Sarah Brenner at sbrenner@nsd.org and/or your student’s school counselor or grade-level administrator to describe the temporary challenge or circumstance and request support. All NSF funding requests must come from an approved school staff member.
2. Foundation leadership will review the request within 5 days and contact the NSD staff that submitted the request with details regarding funding.

Free & Reduced-Price Meals Application
Don't forget... families must re-apply every year 

Parents and guardians whose income falls within specified guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture can apply for free or reduced-price meals for their students. Applications will be available August 1^st and can be filled out at any time during the year. Fill out one application, every year, for your entire family.

If you qualify for Free or Reduced Meals you may also qualify for:

• School fee waivers (a fee waiver consent form must be completed) in addition to the Free and Reduced application.
  • See below for more information or contact your school counselor (available after August 24).
• Other services such as health insurance.
  • Contact Nurse Christie Callahan or Jennifer Gardner for more information.

The free and reduced online application only takes a few minutes and is the fastest, easiest way to get approved.  Find the online application on your LINQ Connect Account. Applications can also be filled out in hard copy at your students school or on the NSD website. Further information can be found on NSD’s Food Services website.

Fee Waivers for Students

If your family qualifies for Free or Reduced Meals you may also qualify for school fee waivers by completing the fee waiver on the district’s Food and Nutrition webpage. Completing the fee waiver form will allow your child's free and reduced status to be shared with those administering extra-curricular activities at your child's school or within the district. Please do not submit a second F/R lunch application when only a fee waiver is missing. Please reach out to Dee Moran at dmoran@nsd.org if you have questions regarding your F/R application or waiver status.

Once a student is fully qualified for the fee waiver, the student or family must initiate the purchase of school qualified programs/items for $0 at the cashier or online through TouchBase. Completing the fee waiver doesn’t automatically process payments for the student. This includes ASB memberships, Device Protection Plans, sport and activities participation fees, etc. Yearbooks and apparel are not covered under the fee waiver. Refunds will not be given for items already purchased before the fee waiver was on file.

Start here! The Senior Handbook is your go-to guide for navigating post-high school options. It includes:

• College application details (including Common App, Coalition, and more)
• The WHS application process, financial aid tips, timelines, and important dates

📌 Make sure to read this carefully—it answers almost ALL of the questions you may have.

Students new to the WHS service area who missed the spring registration window, as well as those who moved into the WHS service area during the summer, should plan to meet with counselors by attending the New Student Counselors Orientation/Registration session on August 20th from

9:00 am - 11:00 am in the WHS Library.

*This is not for incoming freshmen who have rolled up from Timbercrest MS or Leota MS.

**For those NEW to WHS, please be sure you have completed online enrollment. The online enrollment process must be FULLY completed to meet with the counselor at the August New Student Counselors Orientation/Registration.

ENROLLMENT FOR NEW STUDENTS

To get started on submitting a pending enrollment, please go to the WHS Enrollment website.

1. Follow the prompts in the Online Enrollment Portal
2. Gather all required documents to upload to the portal such as:
   1. 2 documents for proof of residency (copy of PSE bill and either a fully signed lease agreement or renter’s or homeowner’s insurance policy declaration).
   2. Copy of birth certificate for proof of age
   3. Immunization record-copy of the CIS (Certificate of Immunization Status form-WA state residents can be downloaded from My IR Mobile.
   4. Proof of immunization from your healthcare provider if not providing the CIS form from the State Immunization portal.
   5. Academic History-provide a copy of your student’s unofficial transcript or report card showing any high school credits earned.
3. Login to ParentVue or create an account through the NSD online enrollment portal.
4. Continue to follow the prompts and click submit when complete.

Once we see an enrollment pending in our system and all student enrollment paperwork is received and reviewed, you will receive an email notification regarding any missing documents to provide along with WHS specific forms to complete and submit.

For pending enrollments submitted after June 1^st through August, a high school counselor will review the student’s file and will register the student for classes at the New Student Orientation/Registration in the WHS Library, on August 20^th from 9:00am-11:00am

PSAT/NMSQT – Tuesday, October 13
  *All Juniors Participate

In our continued commitment to our students’ college readiness and our ongoing improvement efforts, the annual PSAT/NMSQT exam is scheduled to be administered to all juniors at WHS on Tuesday, October 13th with results being available in mid-December. 

The PSAT measures critical reading, math problem solving, and writing skills that are important for success in college and in other post-secondary pursuits and is the qualifying test juniors must take to enter the National Merit Scholarship Corporation scholarship program. This year, the exam will be administered digitally, on-site during the course of the school day. The $20 fee for all juniors will be posted directly to junior TouchBase accounts on August 19 and will be due by September 18. Fee waiver questions for eleventh graders should be directed to your student’s counselor.

Sophomores

• IMPORTANT 10th GRADE UPDATE 8/17/2026 -  Due to space availability, sophomores will not be able to register for the School Day PSAT this year. Please visit the College Board website for practice exams and resources. Thank you for your understanding.  Keep an eye out for advertisements by the Junior Class offering PSAT through Huntington Learning Center in January/February.

Process for requesting PSAT/NMSQT accommodations

Visit the WHS Assessments for information regarding PSAT/NMSQT testing accommodations. It is important to note: College Board, the governing body of the PSAT and approves testing accommodations for students on an IEP or 504 Plan, not the Northshore School District. This process can take up to 7 weeks.

SAT School Day Exam for Seniors at WHS
Tuesday, October 13

The College Board’s SAT exam will be administered during the school day at WHS on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026. This test administration is geared as an opportunity for seniors to take the SAT while juniors take the PSAT exam. The SAT is an admissions test widely accepted by U.S. colleges and many international colleges and universities. Scores show student strengths and readiness for college work. Some test-optional colleges no longer look at SAT test scores, others will consider them if submitted. It is always best to check with each college directly for the latest admissions information.

Juniors could potentially take the SAT instead of the PSAT on October 13th; however, juniors are encouraged to take the PSAT as it prepares students for the SAT.* Additionally, juniors who do not take the PSAT will not be entered into the National Merit Scholarship Corporation scholarship program.

SPORTS PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
ONLINE REGISTRATION thru FinalForms

Athletics registration is done online through FinalForms. Your information is saved from season-to-season and year-to-year, making the registration process quick and easy. You may also register for multiple seasons at the same time. Please click Register for Athletics in the drop-down menu under the WHS Athletics Website and follow the FinalForms instructions to register.

Failure to register online and have your registration approved prior to the first day of tryouts/practice makes an individual ineligible for a tryout/practice session.  All coaches have been directed not to permit ANY student the opportunity to turnout and put the coach and school in an unnecessary liability situation.

PHYSICALS:  Sports physicals are valid for two years. You may submit a physical by either uploading it in FinalForms during the registration process, by emailing your copy to Nicki Kongkarat at nkongkarat@nsd.org, by delivering the hard copy to the WHS Athletic Office, or by faxing it to 425-408-7402. Sports physical forms can be downloaded from the WHS Athletic website under Register for Athletics. 

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:  There are regular grade checks for each sports season.

• WIAA Standard – All athletes must be enrolled in and passing a minimum of 6 of 7 classes. Please check with your counselor and the Athletic Office if you have any questions about your schedule and to ensure athletic eligibility.
• For the initial grade check in the fall only, an incoming ninth grade student is not required to meet the WIAA previous semester scholarship rule provided they have met all other eligibility requirements. Thereafter the student's grades will be monitored by the school every three (3) to six (6) weeks; and students will be required to meet all eligibility standards.
• RUNNING START, HOME SCHOOL or other ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION:  Students must complete either the “Running Start Students and WIAA Eligibility”, “Alternative Education and WIAA Eligibility”, or “Home Based Education & WIAA Eligibility” form. In addition, please include proof of enrollment, class schedule and grades. Forms are available during the FinalForms registration process and under “Students Who Don’t Attend Full-Time” on the WHS Athletic website under Register for Athletics.

FINES:  Students must have no outstanding school fines. 

ASB MEMBERSHIP:  Must be purchased prior to the first competitive contest ($70.00).

PARTICIPATION FEE: Must be paid prior to the first game of each sports season, after cuts are made. It is highly encouraged to make payments online through TouchBase by viewing our Payments/TouchBase website.  If necessary, students can pay in-person at the Cashier’s or Main Office. 

       $300 fee for each WIAA high school sport, including competitive Cheerleading*

Falcon Friends! PTSA welcomes all our new and returning students and families to Woodinville High School and celebrates with staff as the school year begins. As you prepare for the new school year, consider doing these three things:

JOIN!

Here’s why I’m a PTSA member:

1. In Olympia, Washington State PTA intensely advocates for legislative priorities that support public schools, including closing the funding gap, special education, and student mental health and safety.
2. At Woodinville High, PTSA advocates for students, supports staff, and invests in our Falcon community.
3. Only about 8% of WHS families sign up for PTSA membership but we fight for 100% of our students! Remember, being a member doesn’t mean being a volunteer. (But you can do that, too—see below.)
4. Each membership is $15 per person, so make sure to purchase one for each member of your family—both as an “I love you” and to let them know “This is important”.

Extra Credit: Mark your calendar to join us for the first General Membership meeting of the school year on Thursday, October 8th at 7:00 pm in the WHS Library. Our calendar lists all our 2026-27 meetings.

GIVE!

PTSA has always funded student enrichment but more and more, we are asked to fill the gap for basic necessities and be the heroes during this budget crisis. Our only fundraiser, Pass the Hat, is appropriately themed “HEROES who answer the call”. Take a look to see what we made possible last year—$25,700 given in grants!

Please donate to the HEROES campaign so we can achieve our goal of $30,000. All funds collected will be used to support the WHS community and are tax-deductible. Donations to the Pass the Hat fundraiser can be made at Curriculum Night on September 10th or online anytime.

FAB Volunteers Needed!

The WHS Falcon Athletic Booster Club supports all Falcon Teams and associated athletic programs. WE NEED YOU! FAB is looking for volunteers to be a part of the FAB Board to represent each of our WHS sports teams. You can find the open spots on our FAB Website. 

The FAB Board is also looking for volunteers to focus on fundraising that will support WHS teams and programs. One key top fundraising initiative we need the most help is to expand the scholarship fund that will expand the number of students to receive scholarships. Required NSD Forms

NSD Communications emailed all families about the requirement to electronically acknowledge the annual District form notifications the week of August 10. As took place last year, parents and guardians must acknowledge the NSD forms outlined below before being able to view information in ParentVue and students will need to sign off on the Rights & Responsibilities Handbook before being able to access StudentVUE. The District will send Synergy activation keys to all families who do not have an active ParentVUE account.

• Student Housing Questionnaire
• Permission to Withhold Student Directory Information

Fee Waiver Consent Form (available August 1)

Completing the fee waiver consent form will allow families who qualify for free and reduced status to share the information with those administering extra-curricular activities at our school or within the district to reduce certain fees or waive certain extracurricular fees. Please mark your calendar to log into ParentVUE to acknowledge the required forms!

• If you have never logged into ParentVUE, you will find instructions on how to do so when you click the ParentVUE link.
• If you need your user name and password for ParentVUE, email whsattendance@nsd.org.
• Please know that when you next login to ParentVUE, you will be prompted to download, read, and take action for each of the forms listed above. 

The applicable acknowledgement(s) must be completed by ALL parents/guardians and students in NSD.

SOLUTIONS TO MOST COMMON QUESTIONS:

• ParentVue/StudentVUE will not accept your signature. (Invalid Signature Error)
  • Please refer to the spelling of your name in the upper right-hand corner of the form. 
  • Your signature needs to match the spelling that is listed there. 
  • If your name is spelled incorrectly, please email whsoffice@nsd.org with the correct spelling. 
• You receive an error when trying to download the Rights and Responsibilities Handbook letter.
  • If you are using a cell phone to download this letter, please try again on a desktop computer or a laptop. 
  • If you are still unable to download it, please let whsoffice@nsd.org know ASAP.
• Verify that all the forms have been completed. (What is the current status of your forms)
  • Go to "my account" tab at the top of ParentVue/StudentVUE and scroll down to acknowledged documents, this will show the status of all your forms.

Injuries at School – Parent Financial Responsibility

Injuries at School

The health and safety of our students is of critical importance to the Northshore School District.  Even so, accidents may and do happen and the resulting medical bills can be expensive. Please know the district does not carry insurance for student personal injury costs and therefore cannot assume responsibility for the costs. This includes students participating in athletics.

If your student is injured during school activities you, as the guardian, are responsible for any medical bills.

• When a student is injured or ill at school, or during any school sponsored event:
• A staff member will provide immediate care to the student unless or until the staff member is relieved by a nurse, doctor or emergency personnel.
• The parent/guardian will be contacted except in the case of very minor injuries that, in the judgement of the school nurse or staff person, do not pose a serious risk to the student.
• In the case of a medical emergency 911 will be called.
• Transport to nearest hospital may be necessary.

Parents/Guardians please note:  It's important keep your emergency contact information up-to-date with your child's school.

Optional Student Health Insurance

As a service, the district provides information on an optional student accident/health insurance plan.  Although not the only provider of this coverage type, Meyers-Stevens & Toohey has been recommended by our Washington Schools Risk Management Pool.  This coverage plan is made available by many school districts across the state.

Technology Use at School

We live in a global and digital world – a world changed by technology and new ideas about how we communicate with one another and exchange information. As a result, students must develop the research, information fluency, and technology skills that will allow them to be successful, safe, and ethical in this digital world. For this reason, students are provided computer access at school and at home, as well as access to the internet, email, digital communication and collaboration tools, online learning spaces, and electronic educational resources. These resources, tools, and equipment are essential to teaching and learning.

Northshore’s Google Apps for Education Environment: This education-focused Google Apps environment is hosted by Google, and managed by the District. This collection of online applications provides students with a Google email account, calendar, and access to GoogleDrive, where students can create, share, and publish documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other artifacts of their learning. The District creates and manages user accounts; managers access to applications and email based on grade level organizations; and managers permissions. For example, email accounts the District creates for elementary students can only communicate with other email accounts created by the District. (Note that Google Apps for Education (GAFE) accounts are covered by more restrictive data privacy practices than “regular” Google accounts, including a restriction on advertising and the use of student data for advertising purposes. GAFE always was an early signatory to the Student Privacy Pledge.)

• Bring sunscreen, water bottle, and snacks/lunch
• Purchase a Lyre for your instrument (available online or at Music & Arts). Flip Folders will be provided by WHS!
• Bring instruments on DAY 1!

This is a required commitment for all band & percussion members, including new students, to help us get a jumpstart on our year. Students should meet in the WHS Band Room for Band Camp (Room 410). All students in Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble and Wind Ensemble are in Marching Band. Detailed information on what to expect and plan for Band Camp will be emailed out in early August. It is not too late to join Band!
