Compulsory Attendance Law

School attendance has been and continues to be compulsory. Pursuant to RCW28A.225 and Northshore School District Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy and Procedures 3200, the Northshore School District and Woodinville High School supports and enforces the Compulsory Attendance Law.

Becca Bill - It is the intent of this legislation to direct schools to initiate a series of corrective steps when a student is absent and unexcused from attending school. After the seventh unexcused absence within a month or the tenth unexcused absence during the school year, a petition is filed with the Juvenile Court alleging a compulsory attendance violation.
