Teaching Information:
I began my teaching career at Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia where I taught Biology, Pre-AP Biology, AP Biology, Oceanography and Forensics for 16 years. In 2014, my family moved to Seattle and I began teaching at WHS. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture majoring in Biological Science and minoring in Animal Science. I completed one year of graduate research in microbiology at the University of Georgia, but found I enjoyed teaching classes more than the actual lab work. In 1999, I obtained my Masters Degree in Secondary Science Education also from the University of Georgia and began teaching in Gwinnett County Public Schools. In 2010, I completed my Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S) in Teaching and Learning from Piedmont College.
