¡Hola, y bienvenidos a la clase de español!
I welcome you to Spanish! My name is Kathryn Perlinger, and I can’t express enough how excited I am to share language learning here at Woodinville High School. This will be my fifth year as a teacher and here at WHS. I was so grateful to start my career in such a community-centered place and I am so excited to be back! Below, I would like to share a few facts about myself, so that you know me a little better.
I grew up and graduated high school from Sandpoint High School in Sandpoint, Idaho. Since my senior year of high school, I knew that I wanted to see the world and learn about other cultures; therefore I spent my senior year in Spain as a foreign exchange student. A few years later, I went back to Europe to spend a summer in Germany. As you can see, I value learning other languages and sharing my own. I graduated from North Idaho College with an Associates of Science degree and then transferred to Eastern Washington University, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts and Education in Spanish and a minor in German. I spent the summer of 2015 in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, where I had the opportunity to enrich my Spanish. As of now, I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Spanish Language Teaching through a three-year summer program in Guanajuato, Mexico. As I come back from another summer in Mexico, I am eager to use and share what I learn in the classroom! With all the amazing experiences that I have had around the world, I hope to bring a new and exciting atmosphere into the Spanish classroom, making every student's learning experience unique and memorable.
